Memories : 1. Falling in love with a woman/women who did not even know I existed. Daydreaming about the possibilities ad infinitum. 2. Basketball tournaments and the school pride. All the wonderful friends who are still good friends to this day. 3. Some wonderful teachers who are still around at the school. And some not so great teachers who were funny as hell e.g. Baljit Singh runs up to the teacher and informs him "Sir, it has started raining. Your scooter will get wet". Replies the venerable teacher, "Don't worry, my scooter is understanding the tree!" Guess who it was? 4. Hostel life which was non-stop fun from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM. One well-regarded physics professor thought we hostelers were on drugs because we used to dose off in his clss from sheer exhaustion. Honestly, I answered a question in his exam as "According to Shanks (the maker of toilets!) theory ...". The respected professor, hesitating to admit there was no such thing, gave me a few points any way! 5.Hostel food that was so bad a visiting student from London took a "roti" back to England for his "dog!" 6. Jumping the wall to go to Sunder Nagar for food and house wardens trying to catch us. And if they ever caught us they always let us go because they knew how bad the food was on the inside. etc, etc, etc. 7. Forgot to mention, breaking down the wall that was erected to divide the two wings of the hostel! 8. Water fights in the dead of the winter i.e. throwing cold water on sleeping "enemies"! 9. Friends who are no longer amongst us and their sweet fun faces e.g. Ojit, Jayanta etc. 10. Where are my batch mates? Morons are still not on the net!

Memories : Way too numerous. Just a blast at the hostel. Practically lived my life on the campus for 7 years. Skipping to Sweets corner or the Dhaba to eat since the food at the hostel was so bad. Nearly running into the wardens on the way back. Seeing the shooting for Silsila at Oberoi's. Getting into Sunder Nagar Diwali Mela. The entire hostel would get in with the 2 passes I would get from my aunt. One year I found two seniors trying to sell the passes after every one had gotten in. Starting Holi about 4 months early. Using buckets of freezer water to get someone in the dead of night. Trying to hotkey a car that was left outside the hostel for the night. The chowkidar "chottu" found us as we were trying to push the car behind the water fountain wall. He couldn't se! e our faces so we took off only to find the hostel gates had been locked. We climbed over them all the way to the first floor & never actually got caught. Too many memories. All in all a great time.

Memories : Why was the basketball court such a general hangout for everyone. Got caught once by Mr. Lamba in the B/Ball court while an accountancy class was going on, which he was taking. When asked what are you doing here "Sir, Dhoop Sake Rahe Hien". Got suspended for 1 week! The friends that were made in those days exist till now (well Most of the ones that matter) and the memories linger on. Playing in the basketball team in 85-86 was great fun.A great institution for all the right reasons - Breeds creativity (who else can jump walls with broken glasses embedded in them), fun (too many episodes to mention), friendships and a sound foundation (the only factor being that we do not realise at that time). Had a great time being a member of the DPS Basketball in 85-86.

Memories : I just cannot forget those 13 years, specially the last in XII-C. XII-C of 1987 was the first class of Computer Science. But I am sure we broke all traditions of a science class and gave the commerce section a run for their money on diwali and holi. I remember DOPE personally supervising the search for crackers in our bags (Te!He!He! he never found those ladis hidden in the ....I'll keep it a secret). Who can forget Mr. Manohar Lal aka Manu, our class teacher, and his favourite words "Open the window let the climate come in..", Tiwari(Chem), Rao(Phy), Mrs. Mattu(Eng), Pathak(Maths) and ofcourse Anmol(Comp. Sc.). Thanks to Anmol, he never stopped us from bunking our classes to Chankakya or Sweets Corner with all the (hmmm...) trainee teachers. Probably thats why none of them lasted more then 5-6 weeks. The most relaxing place at DPS, Mathura Rd. was ofcourse our Pop Tate's. I was the Convenor of first Adventure Club. This activity was in great demand in 1987. Going a few years back, none of us can forget those staybacks for NCC (Army Wing) and the free refreshments. Does anybody remember Limpopo (Geography). And finally, who did not hate those Monday Tests.
